Study for the 漢字検定 Online. For Free!

Fox with Key

I’m alive! And surprised I haven’t written about this amazing Japanese resource before. One of my super long-term goals in Japanese is to pass the highest level of the 漢字検定. Having a site like this that has a lot of study problems is really nice, even if you don’t plan on taking the 漢字検定.

Check out the site here: 漢字検定WEB問題集

The good

The levels of the problems go all the way from 10級, the lowest, to 1級, which is the highest level that even Japanese people have a hard time passing.

The site also has a kanji lookup, so you can see all the relevant info (stroke order, on/kunyomi, etc.) at a glance.

You can also look up radicals and even 四字熟語.

It is updated regularly with new questions and corrections. At the time of writing this, the last update was yesterday.

Really the site is just too good to write about, go check it out for yourself. You won’t regret it.

The bad

Honestly, the only thing that I can complain about is that, and I’m reaching here, they don’t show the stroke order for 1級 kanji.  I would, however, say that someone studying 1級 should already have a solid grasp on stroke order, common patterns, and radicals so that they can guess the stroke order of new kanji they come across. Like this beast. Basically, there are no bad things about this site.

So what do you think? Have you ever used the site? Can you find a cooler 四字熟語 than 鸞翔鳳集? Leave a comment and let me know!
