 Have you ever heard of “coin parking”?

I hadn’t, until I started learning Japanese.  I don’t remember ever using the phrase “coin parking”. Metered parking? Parking meter? Sure. I haven’t seen one in a while, but sure, I’ve said it. Coin parking?! コインパーキング!?Not so much.

Study for the 漢字検定 Online. For Free!

I’m alive! And surprised I haven’t written about this amazing Japanese resource before. One of my super long-term goals in Japanese is to pass the highest level of the 漢字検定. Having a site like this that has a lot of study problems is really nice, even if you don’t plan on taking the 漢字検定.

【日本語】Random Transcription 1

During my Japanese classes we sometimes had to do transcription exercises.  I tended to not enjoy them because, honestly, I sucked at transcription. I still do, but I consider it a really useful exercise for several reasons.
