New Experiment: Extensive Reading

Don’t be fooled by the title.  I’ve been using extensive reading in my studies for a while now.  But I’d like to try some new things, mostly inspired by another extensive reader I recently came across online, Liana.  I really recommend you check out her blog.  This post in particular is very useful for Japanese learning extensive readers.

Tadoku Round 2: Aftermath

The second round of Tadoku is over.

AND I REACHED MY GOAL OF 1000 PAGES!!

This is exciting for two reasons:

  1. I more than doubled my reading count from the last contest.
  2. Apparently, if I wake up early, stay in my room, and don’t look up words I don’t know, I can read hundreds of pages in a single day.  Yes, this is how I spent the last days of Tadoku Round II.  My head still hurts a little bit.
